When a lifelong love of books and tea collided, Wordsmith Teas became a reality. Our senses associate flavors and aromas with memories, even fictional ones found in our favorite books. It was when I was sipping on some of my favorite tea blends I would think to myself that this reminds of such-and-such book, or that these flavor notes perfectly epitomize the character from this book. From there th

e idea was born of tea blends inspired by literary works. All the ingredients in Wordsmith Teas' blends are carefully considered when creating the recipes. Every tea is hand-blended in small batches to ensure peak flavor and freshness.

This tea is two-fold inspired by STL local candlemaker, Ginger Snapped Candles' scrumptiously unique Black Cherry Chai candle, as well as the gothic novel, Rebecca by Daphne Du Marier. This tea offers rich, deep flavors of black cherry and plum, bold chai spices, and creamy caramel that infuse the tea with warmth and intensity, echoing the story’s simmering passions and dark undercurrents.
