Remembering Mark OβBrien
Guns βN Hoses has lost it's original voice and cherished member of our family. Longtime ring announcer, Mark OβBrien passed peacefully today surrounded by family and friends.
Mark became involved with then "St. Louis Metro Boxing Showdown" and brought energy, passion, and personality to the event that helped shape the unforgettable atmosphere so many have come to love. His presence inside the ring was iconic, and his commitment to our mission and community never wavered.
Mark became involved with Guns N' Hoses in 1989 and retired from the ring in 2024. Mark was a member of the St. Louis Boxing Hall of Fame and was one of the first people awarded the "Lifetime Achievement Award" for his work with Guns N' Hoses.
Mark was also a retired St. Louis City Police Officer, proudly continuing a long tradition of law enforcement service within his family. His dedication to serving others extended far beyond the ring and was reflected in the way he lived his life every day.
Outside of Guns βN Hoses, Mark was a legend in the billiards world - a passion he carried alongside his deep love for his family and his extensive circle of friends who meant so much to him.
We send our heartfelt condolences to Markβs family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His voice, his spirit, and the memories he helped create will forever be part of Guns βN Hoses.
