It’s Friday, the temps are in the 70s, and this feels like a pretty good excuse to sit outside for lunch.

After two unexpected days closed for a major plumbing repair, the doors are open again and we are so ready to see you.

For a brand-new small business, losing even a couple of days can make a real difference. So if you’ve been meaning to stop by, this would be a pretty wonderful week to do it.

Well, this turned into a little more than we bargained for.

What we thought was a water pressure issue at Picky turned out to be something much bigger. Once the work began, we learned that the entire lead pipe needs to be replaced.

As a brand-new small business owner, this definitely was not an expense or interruption we anticipated just a few weeks after opening.

Because of the work, Picky will remain closed today and plans to reopen around 10 a.m. tomorrow. We will keep you updated here if that changes.

The response from St. Louis since we opened has been incredible, and right now the best way to support us is simple:

Come see us when we reopen.

Grab a coffee, breakfast or lunch.
Pick something up from the market.
Bring a friend.
Share Picky with someone who has not visited us yet.

Small businesses really do survive because their communities show up for them.

We cannot wait to open the doors again. ❤️

A little family affair. 💛

Every morning, we bake at SqWires, load up the cart, and roll everything across the street to Picky.

So grateful for my sister, Bethany, and for getting to build something side by side. I always dreamed we’d get to do something like this together.

It’s National Rice Krispie Treat Day, and you know we weren’t going to make just any Rice Krispie Treat.

Today at Picky: white chocolate + lemon Rice Krispie Treats with cranberries and blueberries.

A little sweet, a little tart, and a whole lot more interesting than the lunchbox version you remember.

Can we just take a second to give some ❤️ to St. Louis makers?

When we dreamed up Picky, we knew we wanted it to be more than a place to grab coffee or lunch. We wanted the market to be filled with things we genuinely love, including fresh produce, flowers, pantry staples, books, gifts and products made by some incredibly creative people.

There are so many bright minds making, growing and creating good things in St. Louis. We feel lucky to give some of them a little more shelf space.
