8020 Restaurant will be closed Wednesday, August 12, as Chef Orlando McKinney travels to Martha’s Vineyard for an incredible culinary opportunity!

Chef Orlando will have the honor of cooking alongside Chef Gerald Sombright—the first African American Michelin-starred chef in the United States—for the Black Economic Forum CEO Dinner.

We are incredibly proud of Chef Orlando and grateful for this opportunity to showcase his talent on such a prestigious stage.

We will reopen Thursday, August 13, and look forward to serving you!

Completed in 1925, the Louderman Building was designed by renowned St. Louis architects La Beaume & Klein as a premier commercial building during one of the city’s greatest periods of growth. For over a century, it has stood as a symbol of ambition, craftsmanship, and resilience—and today, we are honored to add our story to its legacy.

The name 8020 is inspired by the 80/20 Principle—the belief that a few intentional choices create the greatest impact. In our kitchen, that means focusing on what matters most: exceptional ingredients, thoughtful technique, genuine hospitality, and unforgettable flavor.

And if you’ve ever noticed our chess-inspired theme, that’s no accident.
