This one really got us. 🥹

When 38 planes were grounded in Gander, Newfoundland, on September 11, 2001, nearly 7,000 strangers suddenly found themselves stranded. What happened next is a powerful true story of a small town opening its homes and hearts to people who desperately needed somewhere to go while the world was reeling. ✈️

Come From Away is a celebration of kindness, community, resilience, and human connection—full of reminders worth carrying with you. 🩵

The game is afoot. 🕵️‍♀️ Our first move? Establishing an alibi at ART Bar atop the Angad!

We kicked off our night with two CLUE-inspired cocktails—Whodunit & Ms. Scarlet—before heading across the street to The Fabulous Fox to crack the case. 🔎

Based on the classic board game and 1985 movie, CLUE had us guessing and giggling right down to the final reveal! 🗝️

And because the show is only 80 minutes with no intermission, there’s plenty of time to head back to ART Bar afterward to debrief over one last drink. 🥂

Came for the chicken pot pie, stayed for the full experience! 🥧

When we staycationed in Lafayette Square and checked into The Truitt, we headed to SqWires for dinner, just minutes from the hotel. 🏨

Reservations were already booked up, but we decided to try our luck with a walk-in and somehow scored a table! 🙌

There’s no question why this spot is a Lafayette Square favorite. Housed in a restored 19th-century factory, SqWires has that effortlessly cool, historic-meets-modern feel, and the menu spotlights locally sourced ingredients. ✨

Here’s what we ordered:

🥢 Sesame Seed Seared Tuna
🥧 Chicken Pot Pie
🐟 Fish & Chips

Now we need to get back there for brunch! 🍳

Story time! We pull up to The Truitt for our staycation and Noah goes, “Wait… I’ve been inside this building before.” 👀

Turns out, his family’s estate sale company hosted a sale here years ago! Talk about a full-circle, small-world St. Louis moment. 🥹

And now, we were back inside — only this time, checking in for the night instead of checking out customers. ✨

📍 The Truitt sits in Lafayette Square and is housed in a 141-year-old Second French Empire residence, and it was absolutely jaw-dropping to see the space transformed into a STUNNING boutique hotel! The same lobby once filled with folding tables, price tags and boxes now looks like a scene out of a magazine.

We loved getting to experience this historic hideaway right here in our own city — and that unexpected connection to Noah’s family made the stay even more memorable. ❤️

A musical… with no script, no rehearsal, and no clue where the story is going? Exactly! 🤣

St. Louis-based improv group The One Four Fives create Broadway-style musicals completely on the spot.

Audience suggestions become the plot for the first show, with songs, dancing, real-time piano accompaniment, and dramatic lighting — and in the second half, the performers interview an audience member and turn details from their day into a hilarious 25-minute musical. 🎹

Basically, you never know what’s going to happen next — and that’s what makes this such a fun, laughter-filled date night!

Plus, there’s a full bar and kitchen with a variety of apps, entrees, and snacks — so dinner and a show can all happen under one roof! 🍸🍴✨
