Did you know we brew chemex daily as our “batch” or “drip” option? Every morning we choose one of our single origin coffees to highlight as our chemex option! So even our batch is a hand brewed method. This method of brewing uses a thicker filter that catches more of the coffee oils and produces a bright, clean, approachable cup of coffee!

It’s the perfect fall weather for hot coffee and we have a potential new coffee coming out in the next couple of weeks! We’re really excited, so stay tuned!!

We often get asked how we’re able to make art in your lattes! Let us tell you, it’s not easy! It takes months and months of practice and consistency. However there are a few key things that you need to focus on before you even start pouring! Your espresso, your milk temperature, your milk texture, and drink ingredient ratio.

A good espresso shot should be creamy and have a nice layer of crema that holds the milk texture. Steaming milk is often the most difficult part and every milk option steams a little bit differently. While steaming milk you should let enough air into the milk where it’s not loud and screeching, but not too much air to where the milk is too thick.

A small rotating vortex should occur in the pitcher. Temperature is dependent on the drink for example a cortado should be immediately drinkable. All of these affect your latte art before you even start pouring.

Stay tuned for more details!
