Behind every picture, there’s a story… ❤️
I looked at these cakes coming out of my little home oven and thought about everything people don’t see behind the final product. The late nights baking, frosting, decorating, cleaning a messy kitchen, shopping for ingredients, waiting on supplies, and sometimes crying from pure exhaustion when things don’t go as planned.
Being a small business owner isn’t just “making a cake.” It’s balancing orders, work, hobbies, children, a home, bills, and a dream. Basically all at the same time. Sometimes a cake can take 6 hours or more, and behind that people think that a custom cake should be $60–$80 price. Trust me there’s so much more behind the price than the cake itself: ingredients, supplies, electricity, creativity, and countless hours of learning is a lot of work and takes so much from home bakers.
Yes, you can buy a cake at Walmart or Big Y for less, and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that…
But when you support a small baker, you’re also supporting someone who once said, “One day, I want to build something of my own.”
