GARBO’S PIZZERIA ANNOUNCES NEW OWNERSHIP
Springfield, MO — After 35 years of serving the community, Garbo’s Pizzeria is proud to announce a new chapter in its history. Effective immediately, ownership of the beloved local restaurant has officially been passed to the third generation — 13-year-old Marilyn Scholz.
Marilyn now becomes the youngest restaurant owner in Springfield and is eager to step into her new role.
“I’m really excited to take over Garbo’s. I think we’re going to keep the pizza everyone loves, but also add things like candy pizzas and a full mocktail menu. I also think it’s time we allow dogs… and maybe cats.”
Current owner Laine Scholz shared her confidence in the transition.
“After years of dedication to Garbo’s, it felt like the right time to pass the torch. Marilyn has grown up in this business, and I’m excited to see her ideas come to life—although we may need to have a quick conversation about health department rules regarding dogs and cats.”
Garbo’s will continue to serve its signature St. Louis-style pizza, award-winning salads, and cakes — with a few possible new ideas from its newest (and youngest) owner.
