Los Rancheros Springfield BEST MEXICAN FOOD IN SPRINGFIELD AREA!!! This is the third restaurant for owner Jose Lopez Sr of Jacksonville.

He has one in DeKalb and Jacksonville IL, who's goal is to build a chain of fine authentic mexican cooking. On the menu are chicken and beef fajitas, chimichangas, burritos, tamales, quesadillas, tacos, enchiladas, taco salads, chili, nachos and other south-of-the-border fare. Among the specialties of the house are Molcajete (shrimp, chicken breast, chorizo, steak, grilled cactus and a fresh chees

e cube, with refried beans and tortilla on the side) and Carne Borracha (lime-and-beer-cooked steak with onions and jalapeno peppers with sides of rice, baked beans and salad). Light dinners include a variety of fish, shrimp and chicken prepared with vegetables and rice. On the children’s menu are burgers, pizza, tacos and burritos. There are lunch specials, express (fast) lunches and vegetarian plates. Sopaipillas, flan, fried ice cream and deep-fried bananas (topped with chocolate, caramel and whipped cream) are dessert items.
