It was the first restaurant on north Dirksen Parkway in a totally industrial area, surrounded by cornfields. Since then the area has grown to include a Super Walmart, Lowes, Menards, Big R, and 18 other restaurants. After devoting four years as a waitress at Tops Big Boy, she saw an opportunity to open her own restaurant where she could treat customers how they deserved to be treated.
