On the last day of I stopped by my father’s favorite Chinese restaurant in Springfield, Shanghai Inn! Every time we would make a trip up to go visit him in St. Louis he would always say “Don’t forget my Shanghai!” His order was Cashew chicken with dark meat, and everything on the side.

If there’s one thing I know that I’ve learned through this whole journey, it’s what cashew chicken really means to the 417 community. Food really brings people together and sparks good memories of family, get togethers and traditions of years past and yet to come.

Thank you to everyone for your recommendations and I hope you all have an awesome Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and a Happy New Year!

Who wants to play a game? Can you guess where this delicious dish is from? Hmmmmm….ok times up, it’s from Shanghai Inn!

I was craving that slightly sweet, and LOTS of heat, general chicken! I ordered it spicy with one of those famous egg rolls, which made for the perfect meal, perfect, perfect, perfect!
