After much thought, we’ve made the difficult
decision to close our shop indefinitely.

To everyone who has supported us along the way—thank you. We are beyond grateful for every visit, every kind word, and every scoop shared. Your support has meant more to us than we can put into words, and we’re so thankful you have been a part of what is only the beginning of Abel’s Ice Cream Co.’s journey.

For now, we’re taking this time to step back, regroup, and gain a clear vision for what the future holds. While this chapter is coming to a close, we truly believe it isn’t the end of our story.

We’ll be sure to keep you updated on our future endeavors as they unfold.

It’s July which means this month is NATIONAL ICE CREAM DAY😌☀️🍨🥳 and not just any ice cream day… ice cream at ABEL’S ICE CREAM CO! 🔥We are meeting on July 19th from 1-8pm to have ice cream on the yard together… head upstairs to our shop, grab your ice cream, and meet us outside in the sunshine! ☀️ It’s going to be a fun time together. When we are preparing our ice cream for our customers each week we are prioritizing prayer and worship over our product. We pray that every customer would not only enjoy what they eat but that they would feel Gods love through each bite. And that when people come to our store they would feel His peace in the atmosphere. We believe that’s apart of why everything tastes so good! Happy Juneteenth!! 🤎🎉 As a black owned business with proud Texas roots we celebrate the significance of today & the freedom it has granted us today!

is an annual holiday commemorating the emancipation of enslaved African Americans. It marks the day in 1865 when Union troops arrived in Galveston, Texas, to announce that the Civil War had ended and all enslaved people were free. President Abraham Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation on January 1, 1863. However, the news did not reach enslaved people in Texas until over two years later. On June 19, 1865, Union Major General Gordon Granger arrived in Galveston and read General Orders No. 3, which stated that all enslaved people in Texas were free. This brought freedom to over 250,000 enslaved people. Texas became the first state to make Juneteenth an official holiday in 1980. On June 17, 2021, Juneteenth was officially signed into law as a U.S. federal holiday.
