Well it has been 9 days since the hip replacement and things seem well. Much less pain and moving around great with the help of a walker. Had an initial consult with PT yesterday and he thought I was already moving very well and start those sessions this coming week. It is still going to be at least a couple months before I am back on my feet and already have contacted several local businesses who have been interested in hiring me to cook.
Unfortunately, I am stuck here at the VA housing until then with no income and am struggling to try and come up with the money to cover my storage unit for the next two months which is only $150 but still an unattainable goal until I can work. As most of you know I have been struggling with hip pain from arthritis which has developed into anecrotic necrosis. Because of the issue I ultimately had to close Goodfellaz Pizza and eventually due to being unable to work I ended up homeless briefly back in January of this year.

I am presently living in veterans housing in Union Grove Wisconsin. It's a fairly pleasant place and of course I've adapted a bit and have been working very short shifts serving in the kitchen. on Sundays with the help of some other veterans I have been serving dinner meals that would not normally be on the menu.

As of today I took a step in the right direction with a full right hip replacement. Spending the night here at St Clair hospital in baraboo and will be heading back to VA housing tomorrow.

Once I am healed I will get back to work either through vet corp or a local restaurant in the area. From there they will help me locate housing back in the Baraboo, Sauk, Madison area and I will be on my way. I want to thank all of you for your support in these tough times. I like forward to being an active member in the community again. I miss you all and hope to see a lot of you again very soon.

So I have traversed through space and time and broken the continuum and returned with the answer to life happiness health well maybe not health and world Peace. That would be the chef Frankenstein in me that has created bacon pineapple upside down cake!

I haven't been saying much. Things just seem to not work themselves out lately. I did have a chance to hang with Misty Meyers and she surprised bot myself and Morticia with this beautiful picture of the late great Sgt. Meowenstein. Morticia was a little scared of it at first but she has come around.

I was planning on doing the same thing but never told her my intentions. We just have that weird kind of bond and understand each other. Thank you for brightening my World again Misty. And thank you Lindsey Gieck for capturing my brave soldier in his best, most stoic pose.

My last post lagged from posting on my phone, I last checked his breathing at 3 am when I went to prepare our bed for the night. When I came back at 3:07 Meowestein had passed. I will always love you buddy, you were my best friend ever!

Meowenstein is dying quickly. I need to get him immediate medical and don't know what to do. Know of any free emergency vet services? He's not eating, drinking much less water than he was. He is wobbly and only walking short distances before laying down. We are completely broke so free or billed services would be best.

It's time to let her go.

2003 Jeep Liberty 4 door 2.6 V6 engine $1,000 OBO. Needs work but drives. This vehicle has recently gotten me back and forth from Lone Rock to Madison and Baraboo as well as from Pardeeville to Baraboo weekly.

The vehicle has the classic rust on the bottom of both the driver’s side and passenger side that is evident of all of this class of vehicle. The turn signal light on the front drivers side has been replaced and all lights function properly.

The engine runs rough as it needs the O2 sensors replaced. One of the four have been replaced, the other new ones come with the vehicle. The water pump needs to be replaced which the replacement part comes with the vehicle. If replacing the water pump, replacement of the thermostat probably could be done at the same time but do not have that part. The front end needs a CV joint and Tie Rod or Ball joint replaced. Some Tie Rod parts come with it. Some interior damage but the parts are there, just need to be put back on.

This picture was taken by Jeff Weiland in 1987 looking up Oak Street in my hometown of Baraboo, WI near the old Avalon bar. The hand painted sign on the side of the building was for Tom & Jerry's Pizza. That was my first ever pizza job for $5 a night plus tips for doing dishes and driving in June of 1984 just after high school. When the manager decided he needed to spend more time at the Avalon, he taught me how to make the pizzas. It was shortly after that a well dressed large Italian man named Lenny was visiting the store and told me since I was doing such a good job they were raising my pay to $10 a night plus tips. Not long after that, I reported for duty to find the place had been cleared out and shut down. I guess you can only use a place to launder money for so long. That is purely speculation on my part of course. Long story short, this is where my career as Pizzaiolo began and just creeping on my 40 year anniversary. And oh do I have stories to tell. BTW, I tried to call the number and it is no longer in service. I hoped someone would answer so I could try and order a pizza.
