Hello friends,
Over the past 12 months the Spring Inn Bar has struggled. Our income is down and our cost of operation is way up. We’ve tried different events, adjusting hours/prices and running different specials. Unfortunately these steps have only worked to slow an inevitable financial collapse.
I have continuously bet on the bar, doing anything I could to buy us more time, hoping to outlast this downturn. Heading into winter, we are in worse shape than we’ve been at any time in the last three years with no sign of improvement. To cap it off, our debt holders are calling in those debts and withholding essential services and products from us.
It is with a heavy heart that I must close the Spring Inn Bar. I intend for this to be a temporary closure as the business is updated. Hopefully we can come back soon, as a better product that earns your patronage. The business has been dealt a rough hand but we are not victims. We believe in capitalism here and the market has spoken. We will try to refocus and be a better bar and business for you. As much as I want to preserve the historical look and feel of the Spring Inn, it is clear that is not what the population wants at large.
We will be open until the end of the month, December 15, 2022. Please come and spend time with your bartenders and let us know what you would like to see in the future or reminisce on a storied past. Words are not enough to express my gratitude for our loyal customers who have kept the lights on this long, laughed and cried with us. We are family and I will miss you all very much.
This is not goodbye, just 'see you later.'
