We had the pleasure of sitting down with one of Spokane's best kept secrets, and a true testament to living a life of helping others, showing up, and being community driven... Martha from The. Supper Club! A wizard in the kitchen, and just as magical with words and expression- read on to hear about some exciting news!
đź’śCongratulations on your recent huge achievement! Can you tell us a little about the beginning of your business, how this idea began?
The Supper Club honestly started from survival and community before it ever started from business. During a really difficult season in life, I had a tiny group of friends who were all trying to stretch groceries, feed kids, and make ends meet. We learned that when we pooled resources, one shopping trip could feed multiple households and stock freezers for a few other families going through hard times.
At first it was never intended to become a business. It was just people taking care of each other. But over time, more and more people started asking to join in, asking for meals, asking how they could help. That spirit became the foundation of The Supper Club. Even now, as we grow, the heart of it is still the same…making sure people are fed, cared for, and reminded they’re not alone.
đź’śWhat a beautiful message and mission. Is this what you always thought would be your calling?
Not at all. I don’t think I ever sat down and said, “I’m going to own a real food business someday.” But I HAVE always been someone who feeds people. That’s been true my entire life. Food has always been the way I love and create a safety net around my people.
Looking back at the first day, it feels less like I picked a path and more like every experience in my life slowly pointed me toward it. I think sometimes your calling finds you while you’re busy trying to find IT in the wrong places.
đź’ś So, the secrets out! We can find your products in Yokes?! Tell us about it! What items can we expect to see from The Supper Club, and where can we find them?
Honestly, it’s such a surreal thing to even talk about out loud. The Supper Club started from such a simple place…just trying to feed people and help take some pressure off families during hard seasons of life. SO seeing our meals move into stores like Yoke’s still feels absolutely unbelievable. There have been a lot of really long nights, the hardest lessons I’ve ever learned, and moments where this all felt not just far away but actually impossible. So this partnership feels incredibly special to me. The timing and ease with which it all came together make it feel divinely timed.
What excites me most is that it gives us the opportunity to reach people we may never have connected with before. At the end of the day, I just want to make comforting, homemade style meals more accessible for busy families, exhausted parents, working people, and honestly anyone who needs a little help getting dinner on the table.
You can expect to see several of our hearty casseroles, a variety of our TV dinners, breakfast sandwiches, and quiche hitting select Yoke’s locations, in the freezer section! We really focused on creating meals that feel comforting, familiar, like mom made it! Easy to bring home to your family after a long day.
