Today we pause.
April 24
A day of remembrance.
On this day in 1915, Turkey began a calculated and sinister campaign to exterminate the Armenian race.
Over 1.5 million lives were lost. Many more, displaced. Families, culture, and identity were targeted.
But Armenians fought. They endured. They sacrificed—so that our culture would not disappear.
Today, we remember.
And we live.
Skewers exists as proof the enemy did not succeed.
Skewers exists to preserve the very identity Turks targeted for erasure.
Every dish, every flavor, every gathering, every song, every dance, every fact, every painting, every detail is proof that Armenian identity lives on.
We are not just a restaurant.
We are part of that story, we are part of the struggle—honoring the past, preserving the culture, and carrying it forward.
Fighting for survival.
Fighting against renewed threats.
Fighting because it matters.
We honor those who sacrificed, so we can enjoy this beautiful culture.
Today we remember.
Every other day we honor.
Every other day we fight.
Every other day we sing, we dance, we speak, we eat, we pray.
