a much needed neighborhood restaurant located in what was the prior clubhouse for the painted hills golf course, brought to you by two restaurant veterans and friends. our food, headed up by chef steve jensen, is both approachable and also reaches out to be a step above. we have a full bar featuring 12 draft beers with a focus on local craft beers. a variety of seating is available for about 70 people inside including bar seating, lounge couches, family tables and a private room for small groups up to 12 guests. our very spacious patio offers wide open views of the hills surrounding the valley.

Fresh Hop Weekend at Craft & Gather

Fresh hop b**r only happens once a year. Brewers grab hops straight off the bine, still wet, and get them into the kettle within hours instead of drying and pelletizing them like normal. That gives the b**r a green, grassy, almost herbal character you can’t get any other time of year.

It’s a big deal here because we’re so close to some of the best hop farms on earth. The Yakima Valley grows a huge share of the country’s hops, and for a few weeks every fall, breweries all over the region race the harvest to brew with them fresh. It’s about as PNW as it gets.

We’ve got three on tap today:

Fremont Brewing “Field to Ferment” Fresh Hop Pale Ale — Seattle. Clean, hoppy, built to show off what fresh hops actually taste like.

Bale Breaker “Top Cutter” Fresh Hop — brewed right on their family’s hop farm in Yakima. Hops travel about as far as they can, which isn’t far at all.

Lumberbeard “Radiant Reward” Fresh Hop Hazy — a hazy take on the style, softer and juicier than the other two.
