What a wonderful day to be part of the Onawa community! ❤️🍟

It was an honor and a pleasure for McKay Family Restaurants to sponsor and support the Monona County Veterans Car Show. We love opportunities to get out into the community, spend time with our neighbors, and support the people who make this area so special.

As the proud father of Carley McKay, who serves in the United States Marine Corps, supporting our local veterans holds a special place in my heart. I am grateful for opportunities to honor those who have served and recognize the sacrifices they and their families have made. 🇺🇸

The wind certainly kept us on our toes, but it didn’t keep us from having a great time! Our team brought out our event tent and prize wheel, shared approximately 300 BOGO cards, and gave away some fun McDonald’s swag. The best part was meeting so many wonderful people and enjoying the conversations, smiles, and community spirit throughout the day.

And, of course, we got to admire some awesome cars! 🚗

Days like this bring our purpose, mission, and values to life. We want to be the community’s McDonald’s—a place where people feel welcome and a business that shows up to support its neighbors.

Thank you to the organizers, veterans, car owners, and everyone who helped make this event special. Thank you, Onawa, for welcoming us and allowing us to be part of such a meaningful day. We love being part of this community!

🍂 Family fun, fall memories, and a community coming together! 🍟❤️

McKay Family Restaurants loved being part of Joyful Journeys Preschool and Childcare Center’s Fall Family Fun Fest Fundraiser! We had a wonderful time visiting with families and bringing some fun prizes to help make the evening special for the kids.

From pumpkin painting and carnival games to animals, chili, and emergency vehicles, there was something for everyone. Even better, the evening supported the classrooms and teachers who do so much for our community’s children.

Our purpose, “To feed and foster community,” comes to life through moments like these. Our mission is “To be the Employer of Choice and the Community’s McDonald’s,” and we’re proud to bring our values—Serve, Inclusion, Integrity, Community, and Family—to life beyond our restaurant doors.

Thank you to Joyful Journeys, the volunteers, our team, and everyone who helped make this such a wonderful evening. We’re grateful to be part of this community! ❤️

🫧❤️ What an AWESOME day supporting Ronald McDonald House Charities of Siouxland! ❤️🫧

Today, we were proud to be a Zone Sponsor at the 2026 BubbleWalk, hosting the McKay Fun Zone! More than 400 kids and their families came out for a day filled with fun, laughter, bubbles, and—most importantly—support for an incredible cause.

At the McKay Fun Zone, families enjoyed co****le, giant Connect Four, mini soccer, and a game of chance where every child had the opportunity to pick a prize from our treasure chest. Everyone was a winner! 😊

And there was plenty more happening throughout the BubbleWalk—bubble tunnels, bubble art, a bubble dance party, Bubble WOW-tion, Bubble Ball Hut, giant bubbles, face painting with the Sioux City Sillies, Blackout Bingo, great door prizes, and a complimentary lunch for everyone!

We even had a special guest join us—the Hamburglar! 🍔 He had a great time visiting with everyone and may have gotten himself into a little trouble with the local police officers working one of the stations. 🚓😂 Thankfully, it looked like they had everything under control!

As much fun as today was, the real purpose of the BubbleWalk is even more important. Events like this help raise awareness of the incredible work Ronald McDonald House Charities does for families in our communities while also raising funds to support their mission.

A HUGE thank you to our team—Carolina, Pablo, and Jayden, who brought the Hamburglar to life! ❤️ Without their help, the McKay Fun Zone would not have been set up, operational, or nearly as much fun. I truly appreciate them giving their time and energy to help make today such a success!

The next chapter of our beverage journey is here. Starting August 11, we're introducing Red Bull® to the McDonald's System with the launch of the new Red Bull® Dragonberry Energizer. As customer demand for flavorful, functional beverages continues to grow, we're excited to offer even more choices our fans will love.

🐾☀️ Dog Days of Summer in Onawa! ☀️🐾

What a fun way to support our local businesses and bring the community together!

McKay Family Restaurants was excited to team up with the Onawa Business Alliance for Dog Days of Summer, an event filled with activities, prizes, and plenty of community fun!

🐾 Blackout Bingo encouraged customers to visit all of the participating Onawa businesses, including McDonald’s, for a chance to win some awesome prizes. We donated a gardening basket filled with goodies and six McDonald’s meal coupons, with a total value of approximately $100. Other prizes included $100 in Onawa Chamber Bucks, a dozen roses, and many other great items donated by local businesses.

🎬 The fun continued with a FREE showing of The Secret Life of Pets! Before the movie, families could stop by for FREE face painting, and we set up the McKay Family Restaurants event tent with our prize wheel, giving everyone a chance to win McDonald’s food and some cool McDonald’s swag!

💜 And, of course, Grimace joined in the fun! Grimace was at the movie theater greeting families and had the honor of serving as the Grand Marshal for the event. We also held additional raffles for even more McDonald’s swag!

A huge THANK YOU to the Onawa Business Alliance, all of the participating businesses, and everyone who came out and joined us.

Events like Dog Days of Summer are what make small communities special. When local businesses work together, we can create great experiences, support one another, and give families another reason to get out and enjoy their community.
