The Ugly Mug Bar and Grill is excited to announce our first ever poker run. We have been fortunate enough to be part of other poker runs, which financed their own noble and worthy causes. Now we have our own run and cause.
Some of you may or may not know, last year we awarded a scholarship to a student at Van Buren County Senior high school. Our scholarship program is geared towards careers in a trade or culinary future. We were fortunate enough to raise almost $2500. The Mug and a personal donation from myself matched that amount, paying $5000 to a worthy student here locally.
One of the driving forces is to not only provide a platform for success, but to also hope that the recipient will be able to, if possible, stay local and build their career here Maybe start a local business, employ a staff, and be able to themselves award a scholarship to a Van Buren High School student in the name of their business one day
100% of the money that is raised through registration and donations will be put into the scholarship fund…… If you can ride or drive, it would be wonderful if you could take part in our run. If you cannot, but would still like to be part of the proceeds raised, you can still donate here at the mug electronically or via check or cash
