🦟Mosquito Control Update:
The City has experienced an increase in mosquito activity due to a recent hatch of salt marsh mosquitoes. Recent weather conditions have created favorable breeding conditions, resulting in higher mosquito populations throughout the area.
Mosquito control efforts are currently underway. However, the City’s ability to spray is heavily dependent on weather conditions. Rain, high winds, or other unfavorable weather may delay scheduled treatments.
Current spray schedule (weather permitting):
✅ Wednesday – Coastal portions of the City, including the Blakely Way West area
✅ Thursday – Remainder of the City
✅ Friday – Coastal portions of the City will be treated again
Please note that all spraying is weather dependent. If rain develops tomorrow evening, scheduled spraying may be postponed.
While the City continues mosquito control operations, residents can help reduce mosquito populations by:
-Eliminating standing water from containers, flower pots, bird baths, and other outdoor items
-Cleaning gutters and drainage areas
-Using mosquito repellent when outdoors
Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we work to reduce mosquito activity throughout the community!
