I decided to just CLOSE today. It’s just too much rain, and I don’t blame anyone for not wanting to make that walk back here in this nasty weather! 😂☔️

This is my 4th Annual Trunk-or-Treat for our community, and I NEED MORE TRUNKS!! 🚗🍬

Come out, decorate your car, truck, Jeep, motorcycle — whatever you have — and help us hand out LOTS of candy to the kids! You don’t even have to go crazy decorating. We just need people willing to show up and help make this event as amazing as the last 3 years! 🧡🖤

I truly appreciate ALL the love and support y’all have shown this event every year. Let’s make year #4 another GREAT one!! 🎃🍭👻

😂🌧️ WELP… Y’ALL COME BAIL ME OUT! 🤣

When the weatherman says 100% CHANCE OF RAIN for all day , everybody stays home… my burger sales disappear… and then IT NEVER RAINS. 😭😂

At this point, I may or may not have taken matters into my own hands. 👮‍♀️🤣

My defense: I’ve got bills to pay and burgers to sell! 🍔😂

So rain or shine — COME EAT AT DOUBLE D’S! And if they’re calling for rain… just ignore them and come anyway. Apparently they don’t know either. 🤣🌧️☀️

P.S. If I don’t answer the phone tomorrow, check the county jail. 😂😂😂

Back in May, Bentley came to me and said, “Can you buy me a boat for the ponds?” 😂

Bass Pro Shops

I laughed and said, “Boy, I’m broke! Everything I make goes right back into my store.”

Two days later, this 11-year-old came back with a MATH PROBLEM. 🤣 He had figured up how much the boat and everything he wanted would cost, how much money he needed to make, AND how much extra he needed to pay me back for his lemonade supplies.

Well… TODAY HE DID IT!!! 🎉🚤🎣

Bentley bought his own 12-foot Jon Boat with a trolling motor, battery AND fish finder — all from selling lemonade and sweet tea!

THANK YOU to every single person who bought a cup from him. ❤️ Every cup counted!

Even on those 100+ degree days, he kept setting up that stand and never gave up.

I’ve never seen an 11-year-old set a goal like this and stick with it until he made it happen.

He wanted a boat… Mama said she was broke… so he went and bought his own. 🤣👏

SO PROUD OF YOU, BENTLEY! Now go catch Mama some fish! 🎣💙

If it’s not one thing is another . Riviera had to cut all the electricity at the fort today .

Said something has got into one of the boxes outside and probably ate the cords and they do not do critters was his words 🫣😂! So they had to shut my electricity off until one of the units is fixed . All the boxes are connected to one big one !!!

Hoping THE FORT will send someone out here soon !!! Then Riviera said it will be safe to turn them all back on .

What a day !! Thankful it’s not so humid but I AM OPEN !!

Update at 1:20pm Saturday

The NEW PROPERTY MANAGER called me back on a SATURDAY 🥰!!! She called someone my husband knew to come out so hoping by tonight WE HAVE ELECTRICITY!!!

I am open just LOOKED CLOSE !!! All my stuff is gas so it’s just 300 degrees in the container but I’m here !!

Thank u to everyone so far today that has been patient , understanding, loving , and supportive today !!! Yall are more then guest yall are family and that’s what keeps me here !

When the sweetest Senior girls pick MY car to ride in for the Homecoming Parade… 🥹💕🏁 what do u do ??? U close the store and take the girls !!!

This seriously made my whole day!! These girls made it so much fun, and we laughed the entire time! 😂💕

So thankful they chose me and my car to be a little part of their Senior year memories! 🥰🎓✨

🚨 Melissa — if you ordered from Grubhub last night, please reach out to me!

If your food was not good by the time it got to you, PLEASE message me or comment. I will be more than happy to replace your meal.

Unfortunately, we had a major issue with the first driver. Your food was ready, but it took him about 20 minutes to get here, and then the situation escalated to the point that he said he was going to bring a gun because he thought you and I were somehow setting him up. 😳

The second driver took another 16 minutes to arrive, but I do want to say he was GREAT — very nice and professional! By that point, though, your food had been sitting much longer than I ever want a customer’s order to sit.

This is one of the reasons I stopped using Grubhub before. I’ve had too many issues with drivers, although there definitely ARE some really good ones. I decided to give Grubhub another try, but after last night, I’m already questioning whether I should keep it.

Melissa, please reach out if your food wasn’t good. I want to make it right! ❤️🍔
