CELEBRATING 15 YEARS

LOVE LIVES HERE

Fifteen years ago, Charlotte’s Legendary Lobster Pound was a tiny, forgotten ice cream stand in front of a trailer park half a mile down the road.

Something unexpected happened there.

People came for lobster, but many of them left talking about something else entirely. The reviews weren’t just about the food. They spoke of joy, peace, kindness, beauty, family, gratitude, and finding a little piece of themselves again.

Over the years, we’ve been featured by National Geographic, NPR, the BBC, and media from around the world. Much of that attention grew from our commitment to a compassionate approach to lobster handling and sedation prior to cooking. Guided by the belief that every living thing deserves kindness and respect, we chose a path that was unconventional at the time and, as far as we know, remains unique today. What began as a simple effort to do what felt right sparked conversations that reached far beyond our little corner of the Maine coast.

But the compliments that have always meant the most are the ones that speak to the experience.

Today, we begin our fifteenth season and our second year at our oceanfront home on Seawall. The view may be different, but our purpose remains the same.

We honor history.

We celebrate simple pleasures.

We welcome old friends and new ones.

We believe good food tastes better when shared.

We believe sunsets should be watched.

We believe music should be heard live.

We believe every living thing deserves kindness.

And above all, we believe there is still beauty in this world.

Whether you’re joining us for a lobster roll, a blueberry pie, a sunset, or simply a moment to breathe, we are grateful you’re here.

People come for the lobster.

They stay for the sunset.

They leave with something else entirely.
