WTF..... THE CAFE IS TURNING 10 THIS YEAR!?!?!?!

10 years doesn't seem real, and yet here we are!! 10 years of growing and learning how to run a cafe. 10 years of slowly morphing the cafe space from the lime green walls and felt paintings, to what it is today. 10 years of getting to see our staff grow and become friends. Seeing them move on from the cafe and follow their passions. Seeing them come back as guests, excited to share the place with people they care about. 10 years of seeing guests quickly become regulars and regulars become friends. And while it hasn't always been easy, it has always been worth it thanks to all of you who have come and been a part of the cafe in any way, shape, or form!

As a way to show our appreciation for giving us the incredible opportunity to have served the South Bend community over the last decade, we are throwing a party!! Come hang out with us on July 11th, from 4 - 9pm to celebrate 10 years of YOU allowing us to make our dream come true!

There will be free merch, coffee cocktails from our new monthly series, and a kitchen take over by Smokey Roads BBQ! Come hang out with us as we celebrate YOU for making The General an incredible place to be!

This past weekend our manager, Quin, got the chance to attend Coffee Fest in Chicago! It was an incredible opportunity to learn from some of the most talented and knowledgeable people in the industry today, and gave us invaluable insights on new ways for us to provide the best coffee and service we can for you!

We've been brewing up some fun new things here at the cafe and are so excited to finally be able to share with you the soft launch of our Coffee Cocktail Night!

As a lot of you might know, our monthly coffee specials are often inspired by cocktails, which made us think, why not try making some cocktails inspired by coffee for a change!

So, whether you are looking to try coffee outside of the standard cafe experience or you are just looking for a place to go for an evening latte, we will have you covered! Come hang out with us June 22nd from 4 - 8pm and stay tuned for updates as we work to make this a more regularly occurring night!

*PICNIC SEASON*

It is FINALLY starting to feel like summer and that means that it is time for picnics in the park, relaxing at the beach, and quiet evenings watching the sunset. While we sadly can't do those things all of the time, this month's feature: a watermelon mint cold brew coffee, is our attempt at encapsulates that feeling of summer fun and relaxation. Stop by and give it a try and maybe tell us about your favorite part of summer while you're at it!

LAST WEEKEND FOR THE BANANA STAND!!

If you haven't tried this month's featured coffee don't miss your chance! This iced latte is bursting with flavor from our banana simple, Nilla wafer infused oat milk, and a banana pudding cold foam. Here through the end of the month or until we are sold out!

The cafe will be closing early today and will be closed tomorrow for Memorial Day. See you all on Tuesday!

We will be closing at 3:00pm today for a private party.

Also, a few other updates, we will be closing at 3:00pm on Sunday, May 24th and will remain closed through Monday, May 25th for Memorial Day, but will be back to regular hours again on Tuesday!
