That’s all she wrote.
It was a sad day, an amazing day, a bittersweet day… and as I write this, an emotional one. I’ve never had a team that cared so much in the 5th year of a restaurant. I would hire every single one of them back in a heartbeat. We hugged, we cried, and wished each other well.
We were busy. And with many goodbyes, people came out to honor us in ways. It felt magical, alive and also like a death.
This restaurant and team deserved better than what they got out of this. But they will go on to do great things. I’ll be here cheering them on. Forever.
Because we were busier than anticipated, we will not be open tomorrow. We do not have the inventory for even one more day. We apologize for that. Today was our last service.
We will see you on down the river.
