We were glad to see SeaD Consulting recently visit the Crystal Coast to test shrimp served at local restaurants. It was disappointing to learn that some places advertising their shrimp as local were actually serving imported shrimp.

As a restaurant that believes in being 100% transparent with our customers, we were also disappointed that El’s East wasn’t among those tested. We didn’t have the opportunity to have our shrimp verified and included on the list, and we know others serving wild-caught shrimp weren’t tested either.

We’re proud to tell our customers exactly where our shrimp comes from. We buy wild-caught shrimp from C F Gollott Seafood, a four-generation Mississippi shrimp supplier established in 1932. We hope El’s East and others that weren’t tested will have the opportunity to participate in the future.

El’s East is excited to partner with Core Sound Coffee and Provisions, Edgewater Gardens, and Davis Shore Provisions General Store for our Down East Fall Passport!

Starting tomorrow, October 1, pick up a passport at any participating location. Visit all four businesses and make a purchase of at least $10 at each location between October 1–25. Once your passport is complete, redeem it at the participating business of your choice for a reward from that location!

It’s a fun way to shop, sip, and eat local this fall. We hope you’ll join us! 🎃🧡

Take a drive Down East and come visit us in Smyrna. We may be a little out of the way, but it’s a nice drive with plenty of other places to stop and see along the route! Grab a bite, stay awhile and enjoy classic, made-to-order favorites and the laid-back Down East atmosphere.
