Springtime flowers, sporadic rain showers, June is showing off in these extra daylight hours.

Today we enjoy 18 hours and 26 minutes of daylight. These longer days are showcased by the local flora that reaches ever higher and becomes more vibrant with each passing day.

These small reminders of time and seasonal changes emphasize the spirit of the moment. A reminder to pause and celebrate the trail, while admiring how far you've come. We know the lure of the North is different for all. However, it is the beauty that compels those to revisit in their memory, return, and for those lucky to call Alaska home, remain.

Our dedication to the beauty found in the Skagway Valley is no different than the dedication we have to great beer and those who enjoy it.

We forgot to ID this rambunctious young pup! By the looks of her, she could drink any of us under the table!

This ol'brew dog is showcasing both of our Wheat Ales. On the left is our Skag-weizen. A traditional German Hefeweizen. In German, “hefe” refers to the yeast that remains in suspension giving the German beer its cloudy appearance, and “weizen” denotes the use of wheat. The aroma and flavor of this beer is highlighted by the yeast with its notes of banana and clove.

On the right is our Devil's Punchbowl, a Raspberry Fruited Wheat Ale. The use of fresh fruit puree gives this beer its gorgeous coloring along with a delicate balance of sweet and tart to complement the wheat malt. It's (too) easy-drinking and refreshing, making the perfect beer for sunny Alaskan days.

Friends…it is with the heaviest of hearts that we share - our fiercely loved Joel Probst, has passed away. He fought a year long battle against an extremely aggressive cancer and in the end he was ready to rest.

We’d like to give a big THANK YOU to our Skagway family and community, as the support during this past year has been incredible and greatly appreciated. You are all wonderful and we love you dearly.

Though our Joel is no longer earthside, he is still very much with us. We’d love to hear any story you might want to share in the comments.
