Six months ago today we opened 🤭 Watching this back is honestly surreal and has me all in my feels.

I won’t lie and say I haven’t wondered if I can do it. If this is really what God meant for me to do. So much has changed since we turned on that open sign and this whole journey has been the biggest emotional roller coaster I think I’ve ever been on. Believe me when I tell you the first three months exhausted me in a way I can only describe as having a newborn…no sleep, running on fumes, constantly being needed, and wondering how the heck I was still standing. 😂

Now that I feel like I’m somewhat not sinking (as bad), the reality has set in..How do we stand out with our recipes? How do we deliver the customer service that I have a very specific vision for? How do I train that into our team? How do I be the best boss I can be? How do I balance being a wife, mom and an owner?

And honestly, I don’t have all the answers. I’m still figuring so much of this out as I go. But you guys—our team and our customers—are what keep me motivated. You’re the reason I keep showing up, keep trying, and keep working to make this little business everything I dreamed it could be.

When the idea of Salt Coffee Company was born 10 months ago, all we had was whole lot of grit and the will to figure things out. We didn’t have experience running a business like this or even in the coffee world (crazy I know).

Six months in, I still have moments where I wonder if I can do this. But then I look around and think… dang. Look what we built. Look at all of you that keep showing up for us, that keeps encouraging us and that keeps us excited to start our day each morning. Thank you will never be enough for your patience, your grace and your support but what an amazing first six months, Silverton. We can’t wait to see what this can become 🫶🏻

The way we had (and still don’t have) a clue what we’re doing..we built, fixed, changed, started over and poured everything into this little dream with no idea of what it would be today 🥹🫶🏻

We didn’t have a blueprint or someone handing us the answers. We just had a vision, a lot of faith, and a whole lot of “we got this.”

So yeah… it hits a little different when you built it all from scratch. 🤎

After 12 years, he finally agreed to a tiny freckle as his first ever tattoo to match me 🤣

And honestly, it’s pretty on brand for our marriage. I say, “I want to open a coffee shop,” and he says, “Say less, we got this.” I say, “I want a matching tattoo,” and eventually… he says, “Okay, fine.” 12 years later, but it’s totally fine 🫠

I joke about all these crazy ideas, but truthfully, I’m so blessed I get him to do life with. 🥹

A Confession from the owner:

I still get nervous before a busy morning.

You’d think five months in I’d be used to it by now.
I’m not. When I see a line forming, my first thought isn’t, “We’re crushing it.”

It’s, “I hope we don’t let anyone down.”

I hope every drink is right, I hope our team isn’t overwhelmed, I hope we move fast without sacrificing quality but most of all, I hope every person leaves feeling like we were worth the wait.

People see a busy coffee shop and think success but I see a hundred opportunities to either earn someone’s trust... or lose it. Maybe that feeling never goes away. Maybe it shouldn’t.

Because the day I stop caring if your experience is great is the day I’ve lost what made me want to open this place in the first place. It’s always been about the people. More than the coffee, more than the recipes, it’s always been about YOU.

So if you’ve ever waited in our line, thank you for your patience, your grace, and for choosing us when you had plenty of other options.

I still get butterflies seeing those lines form. And honestly, I hope I always do. 🫶🏻
