UPDATES, UPDATES, UPDATES!

We are OFFICIALLY out of the renovation and permitting phase! Yesterday we completed the pre-opening inspection with Marion County Health Department and are officially legal to open and begin serving the Silverton community!

TIMELINE! Although I am not ready for a full-scale opening, I plan to open the cafe for some soft-opening days while I work through the logistics of hiring staff, scheduling activities and tying up loose ends with the yoga & activities side of things.

So TOMORROW, I will be open for coffee & play starting at 10am. Back-to-school Silverton First Friday is happening tomorrow evening, so look for the open sign and feel free to pop in and check us out. I will have coffee & espresso drinks, as well as a selection of snacks available for purchase. In the hopper, we have locally roasted espresso beans from Solvivo Coffee Roasters!

I will be offering some free samples of baked goods provided by Michelle Ashely Custom Cakes as well! I will not have a full food menu available at this time. I will continue working on expanding the menu and adding activities, and look forward to having a full grand opening in the near future. For now, count on TOMORROW, and I will plan on announcing some additional soft opening days during the week, next week. If you stop by tomorrow, please be patient with me...I'm new. I still need to train myself how to use the register.

I want to thank Our Town - Silverton, Mount Angel, Scotts Mills for taking the time to sit with me and discuss the vision behind Synergy Silverton. I feel like I have been immersed in the remodel & permitting side of things and reading the story through someone else's lenses reminds me of what inspired me to embark on this adventure in the first place. I also want to thank Connie & Aaron Dominguez and Dominguez Accounting for the opportunity to bring this vision to life. TOMORROW, is my pre-opening inspection, so I hope to have some updates then regarding some soft opening days...perhaps even later on this week! Once everything is official, I will post some events and work on planning the grand opening & ribbon cutting. I want to express my gratitude for everyone who has helped behind the scenes over the past 8 months. I hope to see you all soon!

Ok....so it's been a while. BUT I have an UPDATE! The last major item on my checklist is the pre-opening inspection. I'm ready for them! I just need to get on their schedule. I talked to them today and hope to have that inspection scheduled soon, hopefully next week depending on their availability. I will keep you posted! In the meantime, here are some fun, updated pictures of the space. I am so excited to be able to invite people in the near future to come relax, play and caffeinate! While I am waiting on permitting, I am still working on plenty of things on the back end! In the spirit of progress, here are the answers to a few questions I have had recently:

1) When will you open? -As soon the government says I can

2) Will you have gluten-free treats?- ABSOLUTELY, in fact, about 90% of the menu will be gluten-free. I cannot eat the gluten, so anything I make in-house will be gluten-free because I'm not going to make anything I can't PERSONALLY taste test. So we will have gluten-free bakery goods such as scones, tarts and galettes, as well as soups, sandwiches, wraps.... and gluten-free biscuits and gravy on the weekends. Traditional sausage gravy, or GF/Vegan herbed vegetable gravy served with GF biscuits. I'm excited about the gravy....As far as things WITH gluten go....I will have regular bread for sandwiches and possibly some bakery items....but I will be quite heavily weighted in the Gluten-Free department.

3) When will you start offering yoga classes? Hopefully as soon as September. The yoga studio is ready to go, but honestly, it has been difficult with the kids out of school and being a single mom, to visualize what my schedule is going to look like once they settle back into the school routine.

Well, I'm a day late, BUT, here is the big positive update I promised! Today I submitted my last inspection request application packet! Synergy Silverton is cleaned up and ready for inspection! That doesn't mean I get to rest though....I still have a lot to do on the backend! HOWEVER, the next step is setting up the YOGA & ACTIVITY scheduling platform and the website so I can start sharing some of the fun things in store at Synergy Yoga & Play Cafe, Silverton, OR! I will keep you posted on a grand opening date, but in the meantime, once I get the approval from the government, I will start doing some soft-opening activities, yoga classes and play days at the cafe! Synergy Silverton Coffee Strolls, starting in August!

I came across this clip in my memories, and although I am in a very different chapter of motherhood than I was back then, when I see this clip, those raw emotions immediately resurface. Do you ever feel lonely and isolated? Do you need a space where you can connect with other people in the same chapter of life? I hope you find one here at Synergy. This video is about the first time I attended a gathering with Hike it Baby. It was an absolute game changer for me. I spent a little over a decade volunteering with OutGrown (formerly Hike it Baby), and my kids basically grew up on the trail. During that time, I would organize trail hikes, playdates and.....my personal favorite....COFFEE STROLLS! And we are bringing coffee strolls to Synergy Silverton! Starting in August, we will host a weekly walk. Days and times to be announced soon!

Each coffee stroll will begin at Synergy Silverton. We will gather in the yoga studio for a welcome circle, where we will introduce ourselves and chat while everyone has a chance to get settled with coffee or snacks, and then we go for a walk! Where we go will depend largely on the weather and the people who attend. We will be adaptable, go with the flow, and most importantly, in Hike it Baby spirit, no one gets left behind. We may wander over to the playground and stay a while, or make a loop to window shop Downtown. Either way, we will loop back and end our walk back at Synergy Yoga & Play Cafe, Silverton, OR for playtime in the cafe!
