Calling all BBQ Pit-Masters and Craft Brewers! Brew'nQue is seeking entries for the first-ever "Q With Purpose" benefit to raise funds and awareness for your favorite charitable causes through BBQ and Brew Tasting.
25% of the benefit proceeds will be donated to JDRF
25% will be donated to Breast Cancer Research
The remaining proceeds will be divided equally among the organizations chosen by the chefs and brew-masters who contribute their food or brew entries to the event.

Great progress is being made. I have the website systems almost completed. So you might be asking yourself - what is going to happen at Brew'nQue? I will be reaching out to companies that sell the things we use to brew and BBQ (starting with local MD entities). I am going to ask them for Coupons and Discounts that will be exclusive to Brew'nQue Members. I will also ask them to sponsor Blog entries, Tasting Competitions, Tasting Parties and Tasting Charity Fund-raisers. I am thinking initially of a beer and rib-fest fund-raiser for Breast Cancer Research, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, and Misericordia (where my sister Peg lives). I will try to get the sponsors to match donations or something along those lines. My personal focus will be on Diabetic-friendly recipes for BBQ and Root Beer. Look for more news on Brew'nQue to come.

Membership in Brew'nQue.com will be a no-brainer positive ROI. I'm setting it up so that registered members will receive discounts and coupons on items they will use - more than off-setting the membership fee. By having a membership fee, we can offer to sponsors an extremely targeted group for their offers - a win-win marketing opportunity for them and us to build loyalty relationships. I'll focus on other geographic regions once we have the Maryland model set. The first 50 memberships will be free for the first year. All members will receive a t-shirt.

I'm still working on the website (as time allows). Will have space to share and vote on recipes/techniques, suppliers/equipment providers, some e-commerce options, etc.. The big thing is that BBQ season is upon us, and I want to do three fun things this Summer:
1. Share my fabulous Diabetic-friendly awesome BBQ Ribs with all my neighbors.
2. Get some help on my Brisket. I am prepared to cook one every other weekend if I must.
3. Get more of my neighborhood's home-brew along the way.

I'm getting some quotes on t-shirts and am thinking of doing some charity fund-raiser food tastings along the way.
