Today we didn’t simmer stocks.
Today we didn’t pull fresh mozzarella.
Today we are broken.

For the last 7 1/2 years our family has put our hearts into everything that goes onto Hummingbird’s plates. We have started everything from scratch. We have strived to use ingredients from local farming partners. We love food and wanted to share that love with our customers.

We have tried our best to adjust to the restaurant industry’s current environment and this is what we need to do again. Due to the continued inability to find line cooks, we can no longer continue keeping the wheels on. We are closing our doors until we can figure out a plan that can be a better balance for providing delicious food and being a strong family.

We feel the pressure of letting down our wonderful customers that have supported us for the last 7 1/2 years. We feel the loss of our staff, many of which have been with us most of our existence. During this time, we ask for kindness for our family and for our staff.

While our doors are closed, we will feed our bread starter every day.

From-scratch restaurant on front of Signal Mountain (10 minutes from downtown) looking for daytime prep cook/ kitchen manager that has a conscientious attention to detail, that is self motivated and wants to be part of a strong, hard working team.

Starting pay is good for qualified candidates. Shifts will be Tuesday-Saturday. Must be available Friday and Saturdays.

Daily prep cook / kitchen manager responsibilities will include from scratch food preparation, utilization of whole local animals, checking in and organizing orders, light line cooking and baking, cleaning and maintenance, plus other tasks the team needs. Willing to train the right person.

We are hiring a team member to join our service team. Schedule will be Tuesday-Saturday, 4-9:30 p.m. Must be available Friday and Saturday. Good starting pay for qualified candidates.

Duties include working with service and kitchen team to ensure a consistent dining experience. Answer questions about food and beverages, placing orders and deliver food. Other duties as needed.

We are a from-scratch restaurant located on Signal Mountain (ten minutes to downtown Chattanooga), looking for an individual to join our service team. Must love all that enters the belly and be interested and willing to learn more about food. We are looking for a team player that cares about the team, the customers (you will see the same ones often) and the food.

Each morning our kitchen hand-pulls fresh mozzarella, forming it into balls to be used in our caprese insalata, bruschetta antipasti & hand-tossed pizzas.

If you come early enough for lunch, the mozzarella will still be warm in our caprese insalata. Cut into slices with tomato topped with olive oil & basil is delightful with our house-made semolina focaccia.
