Today we didn’t start bread.
Today we didn’t simmer stocks.
Today we didn’t pull fresh mozzarella.
Today we are broken.
For the last 7 1/2 years our family has put our hearts into everything that goes onto Hummingbird’s plates. We have started everything from scratch. We have strived to use ingredients from local farming partners. We love food and wanted to share that love with our customers.
We have tried our best to adjust to the restaurant industry’s current environment and this is what we need to do again. Due to the continued inability to find line cooks, we can no longer continue keeping the wheels on. We are closing our doors until we can figure out a plan that can be a better balance for providing delicious food and being a strong family.
We feel the pressure of letting down our wonderful customers that have supported us for the last 7 1/2 years. We feel the loss of our staff, many of which have been with us most of our existence. During this time, we ask for kindness for our family and for our staff.
While our doors are closed, we will feed our bread starter every day.
