I’m kind of in disbelief to say this… WE WON! 🥹
WHOA. This is huge for us.
We are incredibly humbled by the love, support, and encouragement this community has shown us—not just through this award, but every single day since we opened our doors. We'd also like to thank the Save The Sherburne Inn Restoration Project, for believing in us and allowing us to start our journey here!
The thing about owning a small business is that every bump in the road can feel so heavy. So personal. Sometimes a hurdle feels more like a mountain, and there have been plenty of days when I’ve wondered if I had it in me to keep climbing.
But then I look around at this team. At the friends we’ve found along the way. At the people who have stepped in to help steer the ship when the waters got rough. And I’m reminded just how lucky we are.
The Sherburne Inn is run by a bit of a pirate crew—a bunch of creative misfits who were never really meant to fit into a corporate mold. Many of us somehow, almost randomly, found ourselves here in Central New York with a shared drive to create something beautiful.
Something rooted in a love of food, hospitality, creativity, and community.
Together we've made a place where you can come as you are. A third space to share a coffee and a meal, celebrate something important, meet a neighbor, make a friend, or simply feel at home for a little while.
It may feel cliche these days to say “Support local” but truly it is more than a phrase.
It’s what allows us to buy produce from a farmer down the road.
It’s what keeps our lights on.
It's what helps the Save The Sherburne Inn Restoration Project continue to protect this historic landmark, and allow an old building to have a new chapter.
It’s what creates jobs by bosses that understand that life happens!
And it’s what keeps a small-town community feeling like a community.
So if you voted for us, ate with us, grabbed a coffee, came to an event, told a friend about us, shared a post, offered advice, gave us grace on a hard day, or simply kept cheering us on—thank you.
This award may have our name on it, but it belongs to this entire crew of scalawags and to the community that continues to believe in what we’re building here.
