Things are choosing along at Shawnee Crossing this morning.
Specials today are half of a barbecue chicken or our in-house made smoked sausage. Half a chicken is $10. The chicken meal is $15. A smoked sausage sandwich is $8 smoked sausage meal is $15.
The sides today are cracker barrel hash brown casserole and green beans. Dessert is apple cake.
We have plenty of smoked sausage but after the pre-orders we only have 18 chicken halves left.

Since I already had to smoker fired up for the wings, I went ahead and got a head start with the sausage for Alex.
This Saturday we are having sausage made by Alex here in our kitchen. I don't know what he calls them or what the seasoning is but I do know that they are 80% beef and 20% pork.
In addition to sausage, we will be having half chickens on Saturday.

Sorry for the late post. It's been a really long day. Had to roll out of bed at 2:30 this morning to take Carol to the airport. Have not been home since.
Tonight is wing night. As always, this $1 per wing. Any quantity you choose. About half of them are already gone so if you really need wings better call or reserve some.

Y'all did good on the milk last week so I beefed up the stock this week. What you see in the photo are half gallons of whole milk and 2%. The pints are strawberry, salted caramel, vanilla, cookies and cream, and chocolate.
If you pre-ordered milk it is in back just ask and we will get it out for you.

A little preview for Friday night. We're going with the fried chicken. It will be two breaded and fried chicken breast with mashed potatoes and gravy and a vegetable medley with a cinnamon swirl coffee cake for dessert.
I did a test drive with Carol last night and she approved saying the chicken was excellent!

When we took on Shawnee Crossing our vision was to be a gathering place for the community. We had our first true event last week when a group of high schoolers reserved the dining room and had us make up pizzas for them. They came in before the homecoming dance and appear to have a great time. They certainly were and attractive bunch of young men and women.
The dining room is available to be reserved for your group. We have seating for 36 as it is set up. We are open to any ideas that you have for using the space. It could be a special event where we prepare the food or it could be a party where you bring in part of the food and we provide part of the food. Or it could be a complete carry-in for a special family occasion like a reunion or a wake. The point is it is here to use and we would be pleased to try to accommodate your needs and make it available to anyone who asks.
