We want to thank of the Hamburger Burgerfest for having us as a vendor today, we loved being a part of this community event. 🍔
However, we also want to address the situation that many patrons and other vendors witnessed happen between us and the belligerent, intoxicated patrons of Franks Place. 😡
The owner and several patrons were disrespectful to not only myself but our customers as well, turning our generator off 3x while we had customers patiently waiting for their coffees. They also went as far as to scream vulgarities at us and approach our trailer being confrontational.
We understand our generator is loud and we do all that we can to minimize the noise disturbance to the events we attend. That being said, we parked where we were told to park. We positioned the generator exhaust away from the event goers which meant it was facing the smoking area of the bar. Apparently, the noise was disturbing to them while they smoked and they were upset they could not hear the music from the speaker outside the bar. However, we were setup at 8am and at no time did anyone come to ask us to reposition our generator. Instead, they entered my vehicle to shut it down while I was actively vending. After the third time and a confrontational bar owner and patron approaching my trailer, I decided to contact the police. This still did not stop the vulgarities being yelled at us for the remainder of the event. These bar patrons were not there to support the community or Burgerfest. They were simply regulars at the bar, getting intoxicated and causing disturbances.
As many of my customers noted, I will not stand for someone touching my property or interfering with my business. It is on the long wish list for my business to invest in a more expensive and quieter generator. However, as a business owner, I must weigh what is most important for my business before making those purchases. I will openly welcome donations to investing in a new generator if someone feels so inclined to have their two cents in my business. Until then, KEEP YOUR HANDS AND OPINIONS TO YOURSELF!
