California is beautiful.
Two nights ago, I sat on this lawn under palm trees, enjoying some incredible sushi, pasta, and what they called “pork candy.”
The food was amazing, but honestly, that’s not what has stayed with me.
What I’ve continued to think about is the hospitality.
The way people were welcomed. The attention to detail. The way every guest seemed to matter.
Over the last few days, and I have been learning from some of the best in the hospitality industry, and it’s challenged me to think differently about what we’re building at Wild Harvest Kitchen.
Living in West Texas, we know our reality looks a little different. We may not have palm trees, beautiful lawns, or outdoor dining year-round. Most days, we have no idea what the weather is going to do.
But hospitality isn’t about the setting.
It’s about how people feel when they walk through your doors.
It’s about making people feel welcomed, valued, appreciated, seen, and heard.
As we prepare to head home, I’m grateful for the opportunity to learn, grow, and be reminded that excellence and genuine care can happen anywhere—even in a small town.
I’m excited to bring home new ideas, fresh inspiration, and a renewed commitment to serving our community well.
Because we’re not just serving meals.
We’re serving people. ❤️
