Here at Asian eatery we definitely choose freshness over convenience. We try our best to prep just enough per shift so nothing sits and loses freshness. It doesn’t always work out that way and we find our assistant stopping to prep more ingredients but that’s what it takes! Sure it’s much easier to prep a day or 2 worth but I’ve shown our kitchen staff what happens to our left over ingredients from dinner the night before and it’s just better fresh!

On a different note we should be back on DoorDash!

When i say most of your favorite restaurants aren’t what they seem this is what im speaking on. It’s cheaper and way more convenient to do so. I’m not knocking it just make sure you give credit where it’s due. We use and love Sysco for all our raw ingredients but we make almost everything in house down to our mayo in our sandwiches! Less ingredients, fillers and preservatives! It’s just tastier and definitely healthier IMO.

I do get it. Manpower is high right up there with cost of ingredients and profit margins are slim so i do get it.

You ever get mashed potatoes at a restaurant and find those little bits of potato in there?

You know, the ones that make you think somebody back in the kitchen actually peeled a potato, boiled it, and mashed it by hand. Never quite getting all the lumps out, just like your grandma used to make.

Well, I hate to be the one to tell you.

It's all a lie.
