🚑 National EMS Week 🚑
⚕️Emergency Medical Services officially started in Highlands County in 1975 and is now operated through the Counties Fire Rescue Department.
While most people automatically think an EMT or Paramedic only works on an ambulance, many of them also can be found working on Fire Trucks, Helicopters, Airplanes, hospitals, on Oil Rigs, For factories , in major companies and even many public venues. 🚒 🚁
These men and women put in thousands of hours of continued education throughout their career to ensure that we have the best outcome in an emergency if we should ever need them. They sacrifice many moments with their families so we can safely enjoy moments with ours, and they often find themselves in harms way to rescue us out of it. 🏨
So this week if you meet an EMT or Paramedic be sure to let them know that they are noticed in the community and appreciated. 🤝
