In the spring of 2014 I found a beautiful restaurant space built by Dani Cone and the co-owners of Chico Madrid. The space was for sale and I was energized.
Barjot opened in this stunning little space in July 2014. It has been an exciting six years since our first day and I owe a million “thank you’s” to our loyal and wonderful customers and to the many people who have worked behind the counter. I have felt the love and kinship that this neighborhood contains which makes this next sentence all the more difficult to write.
March 31st will be Barjot’s last day.
As melancholy as I feel about closing Barjot I am as excited to write that the space will be reenergized by a new restaurant run by two wonderful people who will serve you food and drink that will quickly make Barjot a happy memory.
Early this May, industry couple Sara Moran and Paolo Gentile will pursue their dreams and open Finch & Pine. Their restaurant will very much be the place I had hoped Barjot would become but with the pushing of time and circumstance never quite achieved.
I hope that you will frequent Finch & Pine with the same energy you brought into Barjot. I believe you will find the same love coming from behind the counter from Sara and Paolo.
I am so grateful to everyone who has come through our doors. You have made the last six years and especially this last year more than worthwhile.
If you’d like to come say hello I won’t be far. Joe Bar will still be a little bright spot at the crest of the hill.
With eternal gratitude,
Wylie Bush
