Big thanks to Lifelong for another great Dining Out For Life last Thursday.

Mezzanotte and Ciudad had a hell of a time doing what we normally do, with the added bonus of sending a portion of the day’s proceeds back to some of the more vulnerable folks in our community.

Good food. Good cause. Pretty easy math.

Thanks to everyone who came out, and to Lifelong for keeping this thing going. We’ll see you next year.

Our new cocktail menu tips its hat to the cultural institution that is Jersey Shore.

Tonight’s cappelletti special is worth rearranging your evening for. Spinach pasta dough filled with smoked king salmon in a halibut nage, a light, silky seafood broth.

Our holiday weekend special feature is Tagliata di Manzo. Manhattan Block Wagyu strip loin with sun-dried tomato romesco, arugula, and confit tomato.

When it’s gone, it’s gone. That’s sort of what makes it special.

June may be dressing like March, but we’ve got a special to cozy up the situation. Sacchetti, or “beggar’s purse,” spinach pasta filled with sweet corn and house ricotta, finished with nduja and toasted pine nuts.

Made fresh daily. Gone whenever they’re gone. As all good things should be.

The heat wave showed up and, frankly, so did dessert.

New lemon ricotta cake with macerated raspberries and blood orange coulis. Bright, cool, and significantly more pleasant than standing in front of your fan wondering if you should buy a second fan.

The sun came out and we immediately got carried away.

To celebrate our annual flirtation with summer: diver scallops special with roasted turnip, porcini, watercress, sea beans, and goose tongue purée. Which, despite its alarming name, is actually a delicate coastal succulent with a bright, briny flavor.

Finished with orange coulis, because after months of intermittent grayscale we felt the need to see a color.
