In 1973, Jose "Pepe" Ramos arrived in Seattle and started working as a dishwasher at his cousin's restaurant. He worked his way from dishwasher to cook to chef, saved $1,000, and in 1974 opened the first Azteca, a small 24-seat restaurant in Burien.

More than 50 years later, we're still proud to call Washington home. 🫶
