Monsoon Malabar Fans. The USA is out of Monsoon Malabar (The Golden Beans) and so are we. The new crop hasn't been monsooned yet, and last season's beans are basically gone. Houston (and most of the US) runs on imported green coffee, and this particular one has a brutally rigid seasonal calendar.

The seasonal choke point (factual timeline) Harvest: Main crop for Indian Arabica (including Malabar region) runs roughly October–February. Beans are picked, processed, and dried.

Monsooning: The magic (and the reason it's "Monsoon" anything) only happens during the southwest monsoon — June through September — on the Malabar Coast. Beans sit in open warehouses, getting blasted by warm, humid Arabian Sea winds for 3–4 months. This swells them, turns them pale yellow, kills most acidity, and creates that signature earthy, heavy body.

Shipping & arrival: After monsooning, curing, grading, and export — the fresh stuff typically starts landing in the US in late summer through fall/winter (around July onward for many importers).

Right now, the 2025–26 monsooned beans from last season have all been, roasted, and sold off for months. New harvest beans are either still being prepped or just starting the monsoon exposure.

We have placed orders and hoping for early July arrival.

Tired of that weak, sad brown water you call "coffee"? Listen up, you beautiful caffeine degenerates: El Lago Coffee just dropped the Colombian Clipper Supremo — fresh roasted, zero mercy. This ain’t your grocery store fairy dust. These are big, arrogant Supremo beans from Colombia that actually taste like they’ve been somewhere. Bold. Bright. Chocolatey with a citrus slap that wakes your soul up whether you want it to or not. No burnt garbage notes. No "hints of cardboard and regret." Just straight-up elite coffee that doesn’t apologize for being better than everything else in your cupboard. We roast it fresh so you’re not drinking yesterday’s disappointment like some kind of animal. Every bag hits your door practically still warm, smug, and ready to ruin all other coffee for you forever. Colombian Clipper Supremo — because “medium roast” is for quitters. Stop suffering. Stop pretending that pod trash is acceptable. Buy a bag of El Lago Coffee and join the salty side of people who actually enjoy their damn coffee. El Lago Coffee. Colombian Clipper. Fresh roasted daily.
Go get some before your current swill files for emotional damages.

Arlan's Market was fully stocked this morning with coffee roasted yesterday. The whole beans are on row 7 and the ground is near the deli. Our coffee bags are too big and loaded to fit in the regular shelves.
