Hello folks! Some folks have heard rumors that Pikeville is for sale, and we have yet to address this publicly. It is true, we have decided to sell. Whoever has come by in the last couple years has seen our daughter Lana, and likely our son Luke. Lana has been at Pikeville 6 days a week since she was 1 1/2 months old (yes, we're open 5 days a week, but that 6th day is for prepping for the rest of the week). It has been a great challenge to raise such young kids and maintain the duties a restaurant requires. Now that Lana approaches 2 years old, we have to focus our time on raising her (near impossible to potty train while serving customers). While Luke is now in kindergarten, it tears us up to not be able to not be a part of his school activities. On top of that, the hands down biggest request from customers is that we open longer hours. Some have even been nasty about it. We've talked extensively about opening longer hours, but every angle shows impossible results. So, we decided it was time to pass Pikeville on to someone that can take it to the next level. We want Pikeville to be a blessing to the community and we're ready to face the reality that our job here is done. With that said, the holiday season fast approaches. And realizing the time is now to focus on our children, we've decided to mark Friday, October 30th as our last day. We've had a lot of fun and met some fantastic folks! Tons of kindness has been projected towards our children and that has helped craft them into the social butterflies they are. Lots of folks have even seen the chaos that can erupt when Pikeville is slammed and have volunteered to entertain our kids while we handle business. For that we are forever grateful. So, that leaves roughly 4 weeks left to come by and maybe try something on the menu you've yet to get around to, or just stop by to enjoy your good ol' faithful favorite, whatever that may be. We pray that Pikeville will be a blessing to the next owners, whoever that might be. Thanks everyone for all your support and we're looking forward to seeing everyone before our final day!
