You know you made the big time when you get your own personal Jelly flavor =) We are looking forward to trying some later today. It is great having friends that are so creative and talented.

After strolling through Gordon's Produce and picking some of their wildflowers I devised a plan for a new jelly!

Introducing Steve's Bee Food Jelly. A blend of dandelion, clover and queen Anne's lace that creates a bright citrusy honey flavor.

Steve's Bee Food jelly will be stocked at their farmstand this afternoon!

I have a limited run of bread today and attendance at Sault Ste Marie Farmers' Market is questionable due to rain. Stay tuned for updates.

Sunday at the farmstand !

New - Canteloupe Jelly and Concord Grape Jelly made from our Canteloupe and Grapes. Kelley at The Curious Homestead used our fruit to make some excellent jellies. We have a few jars of each at the farmstand for sale. We had never heard of Canteloupe Jelly, but it is very good. Stop by and get some =)

Well the Frost has arrived! We 8thare out of Beans but do have some Zucchini and Cucumbers that we got picked before the frost. Get them fast if you are looking to stock up.

Tomatoes, Canteloupe and some Peppers are still going under plastic. We are cleaning up more Winter Squash and Pumpkins to put out this weekend. The local supply of these is low this year with the lack of rain.

Beets are doing good =)

Concord Grapes !!!
I did not think we would have any this year, as we are working through an issue with the plants without using any chemicals. Come to find out, 2 of the plants have recovered and have some really nice grapes.

These Concord Grapes have seeds and make great Grape Juice, and Grape Jelly. I just like snacking on them as I love the tart / sweet flavor.

We will have some at the Farmstand later today. Lets say by 3:30 pm. We are getting them chilled and boxed up in Quarts.

We also restocked the other items at the farmstand, it hasbeena busy morning =)

Canteloupe, we are picking the Aspire Canteloupe daily, yesterday 11 were ready, today we got 17. So if you want to try Fresh, local, chemical free Canteloupe, stop by an get one.

How do you know when Canteloupe are ready to pick? Just lightly tap the stem at the fruit, if the stem fals off, it is ready!

Short-Term Refrigerator Storage
Keep whole, ripe cantaloupes in the refrigerator crisper drawer for up to 5 days to slow down over-ripening. Wash the outside rind thoroughly under running water and dry it with a paper towel before cutting. Store sliced or cubed cantaloupe in an airtight container in the fridge for 3 to 4 days.

Freezing for Long-Term Storage
Cut the washed cantaloupe in half, scoop out the seeds, and remove the outer rind. Slice the flesh into cubes or use a melon baller to scoop out small pieces. Spread the pieces in a single layer on a parchment-lined baking sheet and flash-freeze for 1 to 2 hours. Transfer the frozen pieces into vacuum-sealed bags or airtight freezer bags, removing as much air as possible. Store in the freezer for up to 6 months for the best flavor and texture in smoothies or sorbets.

We have some Sugar Snap Peas, Beets and Sweet Corn today at the Farmstand Plus lots more.

The temperatures are cooling off at night and some plants are shutting down. But there are still lots of veggies coming out of the garden. Stop by for some local freshness.

We have some Aspire Canteloupe at the farmstand. These are smaller, but super sweet. They ate also supposed to ripen 3 weeks earlier than the regular Canteloupe, but they never do.

Grown Chemical Free, if you like Canteloupe, you will love these!

And we have many more yet to ripen.
