This was me 15 years ago at the Saratoga farmers market! I’m returning tomorrow for the first time in many years. The market has graciously allowed me to reopen my fisherman’s stand here! I’d love to see you all ! I’ll have about 20 species to choose from including soft shell crabs, lobster tails, halibut cheeks, and the usual species! Happy Mother’s Day ! All the best! Captain rick

This has been a harsh unusually cold winter. This winter has taken 9 men and one woman due to the weather . All from family that have been doing this over 30-40 years. The Lilly Jean just disappeared in 10 degree weather and blowing 30 knots. Ice build up is a guess. One 21 year old lady body was recovered. She was an observer on her first trip.
Tom Williams is a well known excellent captain. The boat unloaded in the late afternoon. His engine room camera shows him working in the engine room a 8. His wife called police at 11 pm worried something happened. His body was found the next morning under neath the boat. Ice was all over the boat from sea spray. .
And a 50’ sea scalper off cape cod flipped over . Both men were killed
This business is dangerous! If you remember I jumped off my purple All for Joy. 10 seconds later she rolled over.
I just thought I’d share. Men’s lives are in these fish we enjoy.

I want to tell you all that our location in congress plaza is closing as our lease expired (5 years!) . Our new location won’t be ready yet but it will be bigger and also a seafood restaurant. Please tell your friends not to make the trip. I’m working on ideas on how to deliver seafood and order on line in the meantime. I’ll keep you posted! All the best, Rick

Getting the store ready for Good Friday and Easter Sunday. We are fortunate to have fresh Halibut ( most of Canada is closed for the season) sablefish ( black cod pacific coast) Chilean sea bass, salmon’s , arctic char, king crab legs, lobster tails, shrimp, shellfish, and the regular fresh fish.
We made stuffed clams, oysters Rockefeller, crab cakes, fish cakes, salmon cakes, cooked shrimp for cocktail.

Brother mark caught some squid, scup ( porgy) mackerel, Black Sea bass alone the edge of the canyons. My brother ( forgive him for the sailor language) doesn’t even know how to text yet so to get this video was a miracle. 14,000 lbs for two hauls then run home as it blew 40 mph from the northwest freezing up the whole boat.
WE WILL BE OPEN 7 days a week during LENT . ( open today and tomorrow as well)
