First-rate work and real relationships at Sunnyside Village.

I checked in on our Integrated Jobs Ambassadors from The Haven at Sunnyside Village yesterday, and I was incredibly impressed.

Everyone arrived on time, headed to their respective departments, and got right to work:

•Matt in Transportation
•Kevin in Food Services
•Kristi, Megan, and Dylan in the dining room
•Nicki in Assisted Living

The work itself matters, but so do the relationships being built.

The first resident to arrive for lunch was greeted by Megan, who knew her name and remembered that she prefers hot tea. Dylan welcomed the first gentleman by name and already knew that his favorite drink was an Arnold Palmer.

That is more than good service. That is care, attention, belonging, and pride in doing a job well.

It was inspiring to see our team members using their abilities, supporting Sunnyside residents, and making a meaningful impact across the campus.

This is what inclusion looks like. And this is what happens when people are given the opportunity to shine.

A grocery run with a whole lot of heart.

Twice a week, Inclusion Revolution participants from The Haven join the Sunnyside Village Grocery Run, helping residents shop for the things they need while sharing conversation, laughter, and time together.

Our team helps reach items on high shelves, carries bags, assists at checkout, rides alongside residents in the van, and helps bring groceries safely back to their homes and rooms.

It may look like a simple trip to the store, but it is so much more.
It is about being helpful.
It is about building relationships.
It is about contributing to the community.

And it is about inclusion. People of different ages and abilities spending time together, supporting one another, and finding joy in the everyday moments.

We are grateful to Sunnyside Village for continuing to create meaningful opportunities for our participants to share their abilities and make a real difference.

At Inclusion Revolution, we work to find the fit.

Rooted & Rising is our new garden-to-market program in partnership with Mission ABLE, The Haven, Sunnyside Village, and Hunsader Farms. Participants are planting, harvesting vegetables, picking flowers, creating vase arrangements, working the market, interacting with Sunnyside senior living residents, and building real job skills through meaningful work.

Now we’re raising funds to build out the garden plot with protective fencing, raised beds, soil, supplies, and a shade pavilion for participants, residents, and plants.

This is more than a garden. It’s another outlet. Another opportunity. Another place to grow purpose, confidence, and belonging.

Our Rooted & Rising gardening program is in full bloom at SunnySide Village!

Today Daniel, Cody, and Kevin prepared and sold fresh flowers at the SunnySide Village Morning Market alongside the incredible Amanda Baar. These Ambassadors worked hard, learned new skills, shared their abilities, warmed residents’ hearts, and sold $53 worth of flowers.

This is what inclusion looks like: meaningful work, real responsibility, and a community that sees the value that our participants bring.

Our Rooted & Rising program is growing. Just wait until you see all the plans for this innovative new jobs initiative!

Ran into Cass at UTC Mall the other day and it made our week.

Cass worked at Rise Up Cafe for two years as a valued cashier, and now she’s taken the next big step—she’s officially a Sales Associate at Le Macaron!

While Beaver waited to say hello, Cass ran the kiosk on her own and served about a dozen customers. She was calm, cool, collected, and totally customer-focused. That’s confidence. That’s skill. That’s what happens when someone is given a real chance to shine.

Huge congratulations, Cass. We’re so proud of you! And thank you to Le Macaron for choosing inclusion and welcoming a dedicated team member.

What a night to remember in downtown Sarasota.

Caleb, Beaver, and Julia had the honor of helping serve at a surprise birthday party for one of Inclusion Revolution’s feature donors. We were surrounded by wonderful company and an inspiring atmosphere at Art Avenue in downtown Sarasota.

And then came a moment we’ll be smiling about for a long time: the gallery owner bought one of Julia’s paintings that evening. It was the third piece of hers he has purchased for resale in his gallery!

That’s pride, talent, and inclusion showing up in real time.

Thank you to our generous donors for inviting us to celebrate with you and for believing in this mission. And thank you to Art Avenue for the warm welcome and for supporting Julia’s incredible art.

We’re thrilled to announce 941 Sports Cards as our newest employer partner. The owner of this premier, high-energy sports card and collectibles shop joined our Bus Pull for Inclusion, fell in love with our mission, and said, “Let’s do this.”

Now we’re bringing four Integrated Jobs / The Haven participants to 941 Sports Cards to help sort sports and gaming collectible cards and load them into secure sleeves. It’s detailed, hands-on work that matches their strengths and builds real-world skills.

These are real jobs that are about to become paying jobs, a big win for our participants and for 941 Sports Cards, who will gain dedicated, valuable team members who truly love their work.

Please join us in thanking 941 Sports Cards for choosing inclusion and opening their doors to ability.
