🇫🇷 DID YOU KNOW? It was technically illegal for French women to wear pants until 2013! 👖 A law dating back to 1799 required women in Paris to seek police permission if they wanted to “dress as a man,” which included wearing trousers. Of course, nobody was being arrested for wearing jeans in modern-day Paris. The law had simply become outdated and unenforced.
Still, it remained officially on the books for 214 years before finally being repealed in 2013. Vive la liberté…and pass the pants! 😉
