Today, we honor and celebrate Juneteenth—a day that marks the end of slavery in the United States and commemorates freedom, resilience, and the ongoing pursuit of equality.

At The Belvedere, we believe that food has a unique power to bring people together. Around a table, stories are shared, friendships are formed, and communities grow stronger. Since opening our doors in 1933, we have welcomed generations of Adirondack residents and visitors alike, striving to ensure that everyone who walks through our doors has a place at the table.

As we reflect on the significance of Juneteenth, we recognize both the progress that has been made and the work that remains. We celebrate the contributions, culture, and achievements of Black Americans whose impact continues to shape our communities, our nation, and our shared future.

Today and every day, we are grateful for the opportunity to serve a diverse community and to foster a welcoming space where all are valued and respected.

Happy Juneteenth from all of us at The Belvedere Restaurant.

UPDATE: Rail Trail Day Party Moving Into Harrietstown Hall

If you've been looking at the weather for Saturday like we have, you already know the forecast is looking absolutely amazing if you are a duck. For cyclists, perhaps not so much.

That's why we're making the call to shift our event plan, including moving the free party, live music, food and festivities into the Harrietstown Hall. There are also changes to the service project and rail trail shuttles plan. Complete details below.

EVENT DETAILS
Date and Location
Saturday June 20, 2026

39 Main Street, Saranac Lake, NY 12983 , Saranac Lake, NY 12983

SCHEDULE
ALL DAY: Enjoy the Trail (dress for weather)
9a-1p: ARTA will be at the Farmers Market (rain or shine)
10a-12p: Volunteer Service Projects (updated info below)
6-830p: FREE Community Celebration inside Harrietstown Hall (music, food, vendors)

SERVICE PROJECTS
The projects have been paired down to just two - Kiosk & Pet Waste Station installation. Details on both and to sign up are here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/rail-trail-day-service-projects. Dress for weather. We'd like to get these in and still need your help.

RAIL TRAIL SHUTTLES
It's important to us that you experience the wonder of the trail in great weather and we also don't want you to feel pressured to ride when you don't really want to. Therefore, we're calling off shuttle service for the day. If you booked a shuttle, there are three options:

1. Receive a refund.
2. Donate the fee to ARTA.
3. Reschedule your shuttle for a later date with BikeADK, who will discount your booking with the special amount paid for the Rail Trail Day shuttle.

Whichever you choose, please communicate to Doug Haney what you'd like to do.

CELEBRATION
The FREE party will go on as planned from 6-830p, only we're moving it indoors to the Harrietstown Hall, which is a fabulous venue to catch an incredible band like Reese Fulmer and the Carriage House Band. Food from The Belvedere will be available along with beverages from Hex & Hop and RiverTrail Breweries, plus you'll be able to visit with a ton of great community vendors and trail supporters.

RAFFLE & PRIZES
And don't forget, we've got some amazing raffle prizes to give away. Tickets can be purchased now and you don't need to be present to win, but you'd be a lot cooler if you were there and you'll get to see the band. All proceeds go to ARTA. Prizes:

- Round trip tickets with Cape Air from Saranac Lake to Boston or JFK
- Overnight stay at the Hotel Saranac
- 3 hr Snowmobile ride on the Rail Trail
- 2 full day bike rentals from High Peaks Cyclery
- Rail Trail Shuttle from BikeADK

That should cover everything, but if you have any questions at all, please don't hesitate to reach out directly. On behalf of the ARTA and BikeADK, we are so thankful for your support of the Adirondack Rail Trail.

Tonight! Tuesday, June 16th — come out and see what dishes John Levy and his team have put together for you to try out. Entrees off the experimental menu are available free of charge, bread included as long as you provide us your feedback about the dishes. The bar is also open for any cocktails you might desire and regular menu items are also available if you’d like to order one of your favorites.

Due to significant increases in utility and food costs, we’ve had to scale back a bit, and are no longer able to provide soup or salad with the complimentary Tuesday meals. This is ONLY for the free entrees off of the experimental menu. Choice of soup or salad will still accompany regular menu items.

Look at that. Our little village and the mountain range we call home made Jeopardy! again!
