Jess Cakes In June of 2010 I was laid off from my job. It was a very simple cake -- nothing too special -- but my friends really liked it.

At that time, many of my friends' birthdays were coming up, and I decided, "Heck, with this free time why don’t I just make their birthday cakes??” I started with one very easy cake from a box and used store-bought frosting. Certainly with all this new time I had, it only seemed natural to start playing around and making cakes as gifts for my friends. In the process, most of my skills have been se

lf-taught. I've read forums, watched videos, and looked at other websites for inspiration. I have ventured away from boxed cakes and now make my own, with frosting and fondant from scratch. I love pushing myself to make new and interesting cakes that fit people’s party themes, hobbies, or personalities. I also enjoy doing wedding cakes for that special day. I bake all my cakes at home from scratch. If you are interested in a cake for your special occasion, I’d love to hear from you.
