Ive been thinking all day, how to put my appreciation into words for .
Im still not sure, so I’ll just start with the first time I met Jacob. It was back in 2018, when was still in Parlier. Jacob came in to eat with his girlfriend and after, dropped us his resume. I wasnt sure what to expect when he handed me a legit binder. But, when I opened it, it not only had his resume, but all his credentials from Chef School his diploma, etc… I remember saying dayumm, this is a resume!
That to me, said a lot about Jacob and how he does things. Very thorough, thoughtful and planned out…attentive to details and all with a humbleness in the pride of his accomplishments….That was my initial impression. Though, it was valid, it doesn’t even come close to shedding light on how talented & creative he is. Not only in the kitchen but literally, all the arts and anything he puts his time into.
He draws/paints & everybody at the shop has heard him sing, like, wuhh?! We have been so thankful and blessed that we have gotten to know his family. His Mama is always making us food and tamales…it’s just always felt like blessed, family vibes.
From there, we get into how we could always count on him ! Him always saying, “whatever you need, I got you” gave me the feeling that someone always had my back as I learned how to navigate through this new journey. His dedication to Casa Oinari and Japanese Culture is next level!On top of all that, is the fact that he could, literally work anywhere..but he’s been here! Working in his community and going through the ups and downs with us. Forever grateful my brother! It’s gonna be tough when he moves on…but Im excited to see what the future holds for him. I look forward to being able to support him in whatever he does, just the way he’s always been there for us!
And with all that being said, Happy Birthday Jacob! Whatever you need, I got you!
