October Flavors: a little bit unearthly 👻

For spooky season, we wanted to explore something mysteriously abstract. Instead of the usual October lineup, we looked to one of the tools exploring symbolism, intuition, and the unknown: tarot.

Each flavor is inspired by a different tarot card because we love the stories, symbolism, and energy behind each one. We translated those ideas into the flavors of fall: warm spices, harvest fruits, caramel, herbs, chocolate, and autumn textures. Over the next few days we will reveal the meanings behind each flavor!

One of our favorite flavors of the summer! Our Backyard BBQ starts with velvety vanilla bean ice cream infused with pink, green, and black peppercorns, bringing a subtle warmth and floral spice that deepens with every taste. It’s swirled with our scratch-made balsamic strawberry “BBQ” sauce.
Then comes the unexpected part! a brown sugar cornbread crumble that adds a crunch and a little nod to the sides you’d find at the backyard summer cookout.
It’s like a strawberry shortcake meets backyard cookout. Last call for summer!

Introducing our latest limited edition flavor: Spiced Apple Hotteok, inspired by one of Korea’s most beloved street foods. Hotteok (호떡) has been a staple of Korean street food culture since the late 1800s, brought to Korea by Chinese immigrants and beloved ever since for its crispy, pan-fried dough and brown sugar, cinnamon, and nut filling.

Our apple cinnamon ice cream base is filled with real chopped fried hotteok pieces throughout, then finished with a swirl of brown sugar cinnamon and a peanut & walnut crunch for a signature nutty bite.

The first of our special AAPI flavor release: Lao Pumpkin Custard. Inspired by sangkaya, a dessert where a whole pumpkin is filled with coconut egg custard and steamed to create something beautiful and delicious.
We took that delicious tradition and turned it into an egg custard ice cream on one side, and earthy pumpkin coconut on the other.

Sangkaya dates back to 17th century Southeast Asia, born from the meeting of Portuguese egg custard and native coconut, palm sugar, and pumpkin. It remains a beloved dessert in Laos, Cambodia, and Thailand.

This flavor is available at both locations this weekend!
