Hi Neighbors,
After trying since August to get food trucks to our neighborhood and having absolutely no interest, I am resigning from the scheduling, or the attempt to schedule them.
I contacted over 30 vendors and these are the most common responses that I received:
1) they don't make enough money in the 2-3 hours they are here to make it worth it for them. Most of the trucks are not based in STV or QC and it's just not profitable for them
2) they want a guaranteed minimum, which we cannot in any way agree to meet
3) with the weekly Queen Creek Friday Night Food Truck event and The Power Food Park (on Power in Mesa) in operation from Mon-Sat evenings and all of the amenities they have (places to sit, firepits, games) they are just not interested, as they make their money at that kind of event.
There are a few of the dessert trucks and pop-ups that were interested, but based on past attendance, it's just not something I want to be responsible for. We had one food vendor that is very interested but the last time they were here there were a number of complaints about the food.
I hope you all can understand why I no longer want to do it, and if anyone else would like a crack at it, I can send you in the right direction.
